2023 PROMAX GOLD AWARD WINNER
Passion project, turned spec spot, turned brand campaign.
Excited to combine the deeper aspects of the game and it’s history, I wanted to highlight a different, and yet still very real, emotion within the NBA world. With a subject matter that is typically filled to the brim with heavy editing, visual action, and sound effects - by stripping away elements, and essentially giving the script a concentrated spotlight, we were able to strike a resonate chord with fans and non-fans alike.
This was not the easiest project to pitch, but the pieces speak for themselves.

EMMY NOMINATED 2022 OUTSTANDING OPEN/TEASE
Directing several of the NBA’s current superstars, across mulitple cities over a span of 3 months, for such a massive and historic campaign was an absolute treat. Grateful that I was able to lend my skills, and work with some amazing DP’s and photographers, on such an epic Emmy-nominated piece.
When dealing in creative with such large companies and properties, sometimes the end product is quite the metamorphosis from the original idea. However, something unique and fun can still arise from such creative challenges. Enter the mountain top of the NBA season - the NBA Finals. From the conception of the script and through various iterations, I knew that it needed the heft of Keith David, the Hollywood actor. The man is unbelievably talented and his tone ended up working so well in contrast with the music choice. This is a piece that our sound designers and graphic artists really leaned into, and it shows.
Getting an opportunity to work on some Star Trek material was a exciting. The goal was to do some behind-the-scene highlights on the people that make the animated series so special. In the edit, we really tried to lean into the tone of the show, while also showcasing the serious work that goes into it. We delivered 2 finalized videos to the clients, but this one was my favorite.

Working with a widely established brand within the medical field was a new and fun challenge - an opportunity to spotlight some real world ‘heroes’ ( a term which they do like to be called). The client initially had a recruiting campaign already running, so the first 3 videos below were us taking that campaign idea and leveling it up. As soon as our versions were completed, they instantly replaced the broadcast spots that the previous agency had given them. Ahead of schedule, our spots had driven recruitment to a point where the client wanted to tackle a larger brand campaign. Given the logistical nuances of the healthcare system, we presented a concept that was emotional, real-story driven, and executable, all the while raising the bar on what was possible with a commercial centered around a healthcare provider - this is the video at the top. Similar to their original campaign, this ongoing campaign encompassed shoots in several cities, a wide distribution of broadcast airings, and some pretty heart-touching and incredible stories.
The competitive gaming world is relatively new and ever expanding. So an opportunity to produce and direct a profile on one of its notable faces, in conjunction with Microsoft and Truth, was a fun experience.
Showcase a few NBA legends visiting the iconic Jack Daniels Distillery in Tennessee - sign me up! A lot of moving pieces and coordination for this project. 3 days of footage can be a lot to distill down into a 2 minute spot, but luckily it was all gold.
The opening of the 2020/2021 NBA season was an interesting challenge because everyone was still operating remotely. After writing the script, the biggest variable was coordinating the shoot with Khaled - who was in a different state. Lucky for us, the man is a true professional and entertainer. With all of the limitations, I’m very happy with how this piece turned out. The show must go on.

My second foray into filmmaking was, thankfully, an even bigger reward than the first. With the help of such a talented cast and crew, I was able to tap into a more concentrated and focused execution of my ideas - which resulted in a much stronger product. Writing and directing a film is such a heavy lift, but to do it, finish it, then have it be recognized by festivals and film goers is one of the ultimate highlights of my career thus far.
